– BSc (Hons) RPSGT Sleep Services Manager Lizzie completed her BSc degree with honours in Human
Life Sciences at The University of Aberdeen in 1998. She
subsequently worked in the microbiology, biotechnology and
pharmaceutical sectors, gaining experience in a range of
technical laboratory work.
In 2000, she was appointed as Sleep Technologist in the
Department of Sleep Medicine (formerly the Scottish National
Sleep Centre) at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, progressing
to Senior Sleep Technologist in 2004.
As well as her work in the diagnosis and treatment of clinical
patients with sleep disorders, primarily obstructive sleep
apnoea/hypopnoea syndrome (OSAHS) and narcolepsy, Lizzie
was also involved in a number of research projects within
this world-renowned centre.
Lizzie is a member of the British Sleep Society (BSS),
the European Society of Sleep Technologists (ESST) and the
Association for Respiratory Technology and Physiology (ARTP).
She is Registered as an RPSGT with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (www.brpt.org) - the highest credential in the field of polysomnographic technology.
