The
Edinburgh Sleep Centre is a leader in the provision of diagnostic and treatment services for people with Sleep Disorders and related medical and psychological disorders.
We have expertise in the assessment and treatment of all
types of Sleep Disorders from breathing-related sleep disorders such as Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) to Insomnia, Narcolepsy, and sleep disturbed by psychiatric and medical conditions.
Schemes are available for organisation's occupational health departments as well as individual executive management. The centre's association with the London Sleep Centre means that treatments are available to patients from all parts of the country.
Clinical Trials - -Therapeutic trials in insomnia are now running. If you suffer from chronic insomnia, you may be able to participate.
Exercise is important for both general health and good quality sleep. Good quality sleep is also important for optimal fitness training regimes. So, exercise and fitness training have been introduced as part of the process of extending the centre's activities from medical disorders to lifestyle disorders. We have gym facilities and our instructor is Jo Richards (exercise). The centre and Jo are working actively into integrating accepted medical treatments with exercise and lifestyle modification to improve sleep, health and well-being.
Other activities The centre is also involved with both medical professionals (psychiatrists, neurologists, ENT surgeons, occupational health) as well as other health and wellbeing professionals (e.g. psychologists and nutritionists) who help provide an integrated, multi-speciality approach to the treatment of sleep, fatigue and related disorders.
